Up to Tobermory

We had a great sleep and were up eating blueberry muffins by 8am. We chose to forego the $10 per person breakfast buffet! The drive to Tobermory from Wiarton took about 90 minutes, but we headed off the main road for some of the trip, taking route 9 so we could see some of the eastern shore of the Bruce Peninsula.
Tobermory is a nice little harbour, and the docking point for the Manitoulin Island ferry. There were lots of shops for us to browse in, including a candy store! Some of the other shops were overpriced for our tastes, but we enjoyed looking around.
The monument that marks the end of the Bruce Trail is in Tobermory and that's us standing in front of it. Lots of families were in the town, many taking advantage of the Glass Bottomed Boat tours, and lots were just relaxing and enjoying the day. Lots of nice spots to have a picnic.
We took some time to look in a gift shop, where Brenda bought a Kookaburra for her classroom story time. We managed to find a store that sold beach towels, but at $10 apiece we decided against buying! Heading back down the highway we headed to the western shore, and to find a garden-greenhouse called Earth Bound.
